?You’ve got the power ? smile at a stranger today ❤️ . . . #Repost @meretefields with @get_repost ・・・ Sometimes in life it is so easy for us to allow our emotions to take over and dictate how we react to situations. We let the negative situations deeply scar us and it eventually changes us. We all have been hurt. Deeply hurt. I can think back on some experiences and still am in awe at how wrong someone has done me but I stop and realize that I have a choice in the power I give the situation. We all have a choice of how we are situations. So for this week focus your energy on what you change and chose to look at things from a positive lens versus allowing pain to close you off to the world. #motivationMondays

#selfcompassion ? #dowhatyoulove ❤️ . . . #Repost @waylonlewis with @get_repost ・・・ The other day I was walking with my friend Rachael and she said something about searching for a career path where her work and her life were seamless. ? I loved that. Instead of periods of intense work focus, followed by eventual burnout, and then taking a break…she wanted to find work that was an expression of her life’s path, and a daily life that could include work healthfully. ? This isn’t hipster instagram BS. Finding a path to do what we love, what we are good at, what serves others, and what pays the bills is the Buddhist notion of right livelihood. ? But right livelihood doesn’t mean you gotta serve up kombucha or CBD to a bunch of privileged trustafarians. It can mean farming, or craft, teaching, being a librarian—whatever fulfills those four keys above. Right livelihood isn’t a luxury: it’s practical. It’s gotta pay the bills, or it isn’t livelihood. It’s for all of us. ? If we can figure how to work in a way that supports our life without exploiting others, or our planet—then we might just hand off a kinder society, and a healing planet to the next generation. That’s not luxury—that’s necessity. ? So regard this search as your mandate. Find it. If you’ve found it, celebrate the preciousness of this discovery, and help others find theirs. ~ ?
