? #Repost @yung_pueblo with @get_repost ・・・ To solely accept what we desire out of life and reject all of the spontaneous changes that happen naturally as time moves forward is a recipe that will repeatedly serve us misery. A mind full of attachments is a mind that craves the fulfillment of its yearning, which attempts to mold the world in a precise order. Simply stated, what we find most pleasant is when things move in the manner that we favor and what we find most unpleasant is when things do not happen the way we desire. You may ask yourself, “what is the difference between an attachment and a preference?” We know that something is a preference or a simple desire when we do not have the fate of our happiness connected to its realization. We know it is a preference when things do not happen our way and we accept this reality without the intensity of pain or hurt; we know something is an attachment when we feel mental tension, pain and misery when we do not get what we crave. Attachments are created when desires convert into cravings. When a desire is strengthened and emboldened it has enough energy to create an attachment. The more badly we want something, the more the fate of our “happiness” becomes connected to it. When we observe ourselves deeply two things become clear: one is that cravings are the real root of misery– craving creates the attachments that cause misery and the second is that when cravings are fulfilled it isn’t real happiness that we are feeling, it is actually the sensation of pleasure. We not only lose our peace of mind when we are controlled by our attachments, but we miss the unique opportunity to enjoy the fruits of the natural spontaneity of life. Real happiness arises when we can love ourselves and the world while appreciating the flowing movement of change. This does not mean that we should live like rocks and allow the moving river of change to flow around us. Love naturally motivates us to mold the world in a way that enhances love, but wisdom also teaches that we should not get attached to a certain way of things because change will eventually come. Sending love to all beings. May we all be happy and free. ??? #yungpue

?Love this. It’s all interconnected?. #Repost @charles_eisenstein with @get_repost ・・・ Where, then, do we find the truth? We find it in the body, in the woods, in the water, in the soil. We find it in music, dance, and sometimes in poetry. We find it in a baby’s face, and in the adult’s face behind the mask. We find it in each other’s eyes, when we look. We find it in an embrace, which is, when we feel into it, being to being, an incredibly intimate act. We find it in laughter and sobs, and we find it in the voice behind the spoken word. We find it in fairy tales and myths, and the tales we tell, even if fictional. Sometimes embroidering a tale enlarges it as a vehicle for the truth. We find it in silence and stillness. We find it in pain and loss. We find it in birth and death.

?So perfect ?#selfcare . #Repost @lisaoliveratherapy with @get_repost ・・・ Re-sharing an old Post: This is a hard one. A really, really hard one. A lifelong lesson, really. One we will most likely always be in reckoning with. It means letting go of trying to control the outcome. It means letting go of the notion that if you just do enough + say the right thing + show up enough + say it nicely + approach it perfectly, they’ll *finally* understand. It means giving up the belief that it’s your responsibility to shift the way everyone around you responds, reacts, and engages with you. It means releasing the idea that you will finally help them see it the way you do, or think about it the way you do, or talk about it the way you do. It means no longer allowing someone else to have responsibility over how you feel. It means releasing the need to please or satisfy. It means grieving what isn’t to make room for what is. And, while it’s hard… As we practice, it also allows us to find more freedom, more ease, more relief, and more personal responsibility. It gives us permission to relieve ourselves of the task of convincing, proving, and showing. It reminds us that not everything is up to us. It offers us a chance to find acceptance in all of who we are, even if others haven’t gotten there yet. It reminds us of what is and isn’t ours to carry. It gifts us the chance to let go of the continued disappointment we might feel from those who just don’t seem to understand yet. It reminds us that it isn’t our job to make sure anyone else gets it. It gives us more energy to live. As hard as you may try, you cannot force people to see what they are not ready or willing to see. And, sometimes, they find their way on their own, and we realize it was never our responsibility to force them. Sometimes, us allowing others to go at their own pace (while holding our own boundaries) is actually what allows them to meet us where we wish they would have in the first place. And, if they can’t, we know it’s no fault of ours. ✌?
